HerWorship Life: Thriving in Your Singleness

So you’ve been dating him for a while and now he’s decided that he no longer wants to be with you for whatever reason. You are heartbroken but now  you’re in a your season of singleness so what do you do? You go looking for the next guy to come along and swoop you off your feet. You keep your outfits fresh and your makeup flawless. Then somewhere down the line you realize that your still single and loneliness starts to kick in. You find yourself trying to figure out what’s wrong with you.Ladies , does this sound a little familiar ? If you’ve never gone through something like this I’m sure you know someone who has and watching someone go through this may be more painful than actually going through it. So the question remains ladies, what are we doing wrong ?!

Well for starters ladies, we should never go looking for our prince charming. Don’t go looking for a man! Proverbs 18:22 says, “he who findth a wife, findth a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord”.  The bible clearly says “HE who findth a wife” not “she who findth a husband”. Furthermore, as women of God we have to check our faith level. If it is God’s plan for us to be wives we must know that God created us to fit perfectly with our husbands. Genesis 2:18 says “Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

We ask God to send us a man but we don’t even do what is required of us. For example, we spend so much time thinking about the next time we’re going to get a date or asking God to send us someone but when is the last time you simply gave God praise and worshiped  Him just for who he is? When is the last time you read your bible? Women of God we have to learn to put God first. We may have our earthly goals but our main goal should be to make it to heaven. Now who wants to miss heaven because they put all their focus on finding a man? Luke 12:31 tells us ,”seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you” what does that mean? That means that if we keep our focus on God and the things of God that He WILL provide everything we need!

I want you ladies to know that what you look like DOES NOT MATTER! Am I saying that you should go out looking like a rag doll? Absolutely NOT! However, Proverbs 31:30 tells us that, “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but, a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”.  Beauty is something that will fade over time however , your relationship with God is what should remain and get even stronger. Yes a man should find you beautiful but your relationship with God is what should shine brightest.
